Dea is a family owned business located in Italy founded by Dea Mantellassi in the 1960's. With her quick wit and charm, Mrs Dea started selling and expertly producing lace and embroidered luxury linens. It became a family business when her brothers' came on board to manage the financial and commercial aspects. As the industry grew and evolved, Mrs Dea's daughter Sabrina took over to continue on the legacy.
Dea is well known for their gorgeous embroideries. We are lucky to have collaborated on a few patterns available only at Block Bros at Home. Sabrina, named for Mrs Dea's daughter is a gorgeous leaf design that trims the duvet and shams. It is timeless and works in any room. Paolo, named for Paul Bloch the co-founder and co-owner of Block Bros at Home is also an exclusively designed pattern. This design is clean and fresh with its clean blue embroidery.
Another collaboration exclusive to Block Bros at Home is a line of sheets and duvets called Giada, named for Sabrina's daughter (Mrs Dea's granddaughter!). Giada is available in white and ivory in both sateen and percale.
Along with their embroidery, Dea has a wide selection of colors from their sateen fabric called Raso. We have the lightest pinks to navy to black. These can be used as sheeting as well as made into quilts. We at Block Brothers at Home love family owned business and are proud carriers of Dea.
